Deep sea search teams have found part of the black box assembly of the Air France plane that crashed off Brazil, but without the memory unit that could provide crucial clues.
The French air accident inquiry office said the chassis of the black box flight data recorder had been found surrounded by debris.
The Airbus A330 plunged into the Atlantic off the north-east coast of Brazil en route to Paris from Rio de Janeiro in 2009, killing all 228 passengers and crew, but the cause of the crash remains unclear.
