California university stabbing: Suspect killed after five attacked on Merced campus

A suspect has been fatally shot by police on after stabbing at least five people on campus at the University of California, Merced.
The attack occured on Wednesday outside the university's Classroom and Office Building.
John Price, chief executive officer of Artisan Construction, was remodeling the building where the attack occurred, told the Merced Sun-Star that his son was working when he was stabbed.
“They heard a scuffle in the classroom right across from where they were working and it sounded like a fight. So [my son] opened the door and the guy lunged at him,” he said. “It got the [attacker] outside the room, away from others."
Two victims were airlifted to a local hospital while three were treated at the scene. Niether the suspect or victims have been identified.
The university, where 6,600 students are enrolled, cancelled classes for the remainder of the day.
