Supporters and opponents of Egypt’s president held competing rallies in Cairo as a prelude to nationwide protests planned for Sunday demanding Mohamed Morsi’s removal.
At least one person, said by state TV to be a US journalist, was killed in Alexandria as protesters stormed a Muslim Brotherhood office. The US embassy said it was trying to confirm the reports.
