An air tanker drops fire retardant on a brush fire at the Los Padres National Forest in California. The fire started on Saturday afternoon in the forest about 100 miles north of Los Angeles, and soon spread to cover an area of more than 500 acres. The cause of the fire is unknown. About 40 people were evacuated from properties in the area.
