Recently announced Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton may have to make a stop on the campaign trail to attend a wedding.

It is not just any wedding, but the wedding of the gay couple that appeared in Mrs Clinton’s much-discussed campaign video. Jared Milrad used Twitter to invite the former secretary of state to his upcoming nuptials.

The couple, from Chicago, told the Washington Blade that they will be getting married on 19 July near Lake Michigan and a reception will follow at a nearby LGBT community centre. The presidential candidate has not said if she will attend the event.

Mrs Clinton’s campaign video has caused quite a stir with its inclusion of the gay couple, women, Spanish speakers and other minorities, leading to praise from many for what they say shows the progress of US politics in the last two decades.
