It was a big day for Obama (and a big f***ing deal for Joe Biden)

Shortly before Barack Obama finally signed his flagship healthcare reform into law yesterday, Vice-President Joe Biden was caught on microphone telling him exactly what Democrats across America were thinking: "This is a big fucking deal."

Mr Obama did not look best pleased at his gaffe-prone Vice-President's aside, but went on to sign the healthcare bill into law at a ceremony attended by 200 supporters. Among them was 11-year-old Marcellus Owens, whose mother was uninsured and died of pulmonary hypertension.

As is customary, the President signed the bill with a different pen for each letter of his name and title, and will give the pens to his supporters. "The bill I am signing will set in motion reforms that generations of Americans have fought for and marched for and hungered to see," he said, avoiding any expletives of his own.
