Kate Snow cares for husband with coronavirus

NBC News correspondent Kate Snow is caring for her husband who has fallen ill with coronavirus symptoms.

The Sunday night anchor of Nightly News took to Twitter to explain her absence, saying: “Wanted to let you know why I am not anchoring Nightly News on this Sunday,” she says in a video clip.

“My husband Chris Bro is pretty sick... has coronavirus based on the symptoms although he hasn't gone and gotten a test because he doesn't want to potentially infect me or anybody else in the house.”

Mr Bro, a radio presenter, has quarantined himself in the family’s guest bedroom in the basement of their home.

In the video, Ms Snow puts on a mask and a pair of gloves when she goes downstairs to deliver food to him.

“I am gonna go bring him lunch. This is what my life is now, taking care of him,” she says.

Reaching the closed door of the basement bedroom, Ms Snow asks if he wants to say hi, and Mr Bro chuckles, responding “Sure, hi,” before saying that he feels a little bit better.

Listing his symptoms, Ms Snow says that he has had “body aches, a little fever, but not bad, little tightness of the chest but not trouble breathing.”

She asks her followers for positive vibes and says she and her family are hoping for the best.

“It’s a little exhausting right now, I miss you all,” she says, adding that she will still be on TV, reporting from home.

Ms Snow added in a short video clip that Mr Bro has recorded earlier, in which he is judging his condition by how he sleeps, saying that the first night was “just awful” and that he wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.

The couple married in 1999 and have two teenage children. Ms Snow has been with NBC since 2010, having previously worked at both ABC and CNN.
