The infamous Kim Davis, who was jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, is embroiled in yet another controversy.

Lawyers for two same-sex couples and two straight couples questioned the validity of their newly issued marriage licenses and have asked a federal judge to order Ms Davis to reissue them, the Associated Press reported.

The lawyers have also requested the judge place the office into receivership and have another county official reissue them.

Ms Davis enjoyed his first broadcast interview on Good Morning America on Monday. She claimed she is prepared to go back to jail for her beliefs and that she has even denied her own gay friends marriage licenses.

"I have friends who are gay and lesbian, and they know where I stand. We don't agree on the issue," she told ABC.

She also responded to criticism that she had been married four times and had children in an adulterous relationship, claiming that she’s been “washed clean” and forgiven by God. Although, she disagreed with one person who was married in her absence who said they “finally felt human.”

“I don't think dignity is guaranteed in the Constitution. I think dignity is something that you find within yourself,” she said.

Lawyers for the American Civil Liberties Union are backing the couples who've brought lawsuits against Ms Davis. They've called the new licenses "questionable, at best" saying that the alterations have brought their clients "humiliation and stigma."

To return to her position, Ms Davis promised to not interfere with the marriage licenses.
