A groom came up with the perfect response after photos of him crying at the sight of his future wife were turned into an internet meme by so-called 'meninists'.

23-year-old Adam Harris was pictured during the emotional moment his bride, Tisa, walked down the aisle at their wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Harris told Buzzfeed News: "When I saw her [Tisa], I couldn’t hold back feelings of excitement and love, she looked gorgeous. Our photographer, Dustin Finklestein, captured the moment perfectly."

Unfortunately 'Meninist Tweet', which claims to be a parody account, took the photos without the couple's permission and posted them to its 876,000 followers with the caption: "He’s thinking about all the side hoes he has to give up."

The Meninist movement is an attempt by some men to mock and undermine feminism, and to express the "difficulties" of being a man in the 21st century.

But Harris was quick to correct their misinterpretation, and his prompt reply has received widespread praise.

"There have been some awesome responses," Harris said. "Some have said that we inspired their faith in love which is really neat."

Since his reply on 23 May the post has been retweeted over 72,000 times.
