Mexico: 'El Coss' won't need jewels now
Mobster bling, including jewel-encrusted handguns, was among some of the hardware seized by marines when they arrested Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez, one of Mexico's most wanted criminals.
Nicknamed El Coss, he is believed to be the head of the powerful Gulf drug cartel and his arrest was hailed as a major victory in the fight against trafficking. The US had offered a $5m reward for his capture.
It is now feared bloody gang warfare will break out between rivals hoping to step into the power vacuum left by Sanchez's arrest.
