Miner joins Elvis fans for birthday
Hundreds of Elvis Presley fans – including the freed Chilean miner Edison Pena, who has been on a whirlwind tour of Memphis – gathered at Graceland to sing "Happy Birthday" on what would have been the rock 'n' roll icon's 76th birthday.
Mr Pena, the guest of honour, cut a 4ft-high cake resembling a stack of TV sets, as fans cheered both he and the singer, outside Presley's Memphis mansion. An avid fan of the late star, Mr Pena sang Elvis songs to lift morale as he and his trapped colleagues awaited rescue.
