Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will share a cup of coffee and probably a clever exchange on life’s oddities with US President Barack Obama on his Web series next week.

The season premier of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee will air on entertainment streaming site Crackle on December 30, according to promotional materials released on the website Tuesday. The first episode features President Obama and Mr Seinfeld driving around what appears to be the White House lawn.

“White House,” President Obama says, answering the phone in the promotional clip on Crackle.com.

“Yes, may I speak with the president please,” Mr Seinfeld replies.

“Speaking,” Obama says.

The series, which launched in 2012, has already had six seasons. In each episode, Mr Seinfeld and a guest — typically comedians — drive around telling jokes and finish an episode with musings exchanged over a cup of coffee. Past stars have included Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Sarah Jessica Parker.
