Planned Parenthood shooting suspect says ‘I’m guilty’ and 'a warrior for the babies'
Robert Dear is accused of killing three people and wounding nine others
The suspect who allegedly staged an attack on the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood is reportedly acting out in court.
“I am guilty there will be no trial. I am a warrior for the babies,” Robert Dear, 57, shouted inside El Paso County Court, CBS4 reports.
Later, he continued his outburst: “You’ll never know the amount of blood I saw in that place." He may have also elaborated on his motive: "Seal the truth, kill the babies, that's what Planned Parenthood does."
Wednesday's hearing was the formal announcement of 179 counts brought against Dear.
Ke’Arre Stewart, Jennifer Markovsky and Garrett Swasey were the three victims killed in the shooting. Nine others were wounded in the attack.
Dear was brought into custody after a five-hour standoff with police the day after Thanksgiving. Law enforcement officials said the suspect made the remark of "no more baby parts" during his arrest.
