Police are searching for the adult daughter of a couple who were bound in duct tape and left to die in their burning house, according to police.

The attack was carried out by two 27-year-old men, one of whom was in a relationship with their daughter.

33-year-old Michelle Inch of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, has not been seen since Tuesday and police are “concerned” about her. Ms Inch’s car was found 50 miles north of her parents’ home but telephone calls are not going through to her mobile.

Brian Vroman and Michael Houseweart were jailed without bail for robbing Ms Inch’s parents at gunpoint, arson and attempted murder on Wednesday morning, according to St Louis Post-Dispatch.

They bound up Linda Inch, 66, and her husband Gary, 71, in duct tape and set it ablaze.

Mrs Inch managed to free herself and alert neighbours. Firefighters had to break down the front door and discovered Gary Inch unresponsive on an upper floor of the house as it filled with smoke.

The couple were both taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Police said Michelle Inch was in a relationship with Mr Houseweart, and they lived together at her parents’ house until a recent falling out.

According to police documents the two men stole a flat-screen TV, a poker set, cash and two mobile phones.
