A public dispute has broken out between the former president Ronald Reagan’s two sons over whether their father began suffering the effects of Alzheimer’s while still in office.
Ron Reagan, the youngest child, claims that he saw signs his father had the disease three years into a two-term spell in the White House. Michael Reagan, Mr Reagan’s adopted son, has reacted angrily.
“What a way for Ron to say Happy 100th Birthday Dad,” he posted on Twitter.
Mr Reagan was diagnosed in 1994, five years after leaving office.
