Soldiers have found the largest marijuana plantation ever detected in Mexico, covering 120ha (300 acres).
The crop would yield about 120 tonnes and be worth an estimated $160m (£100m), the defence ministry said.
The plants – sheltered under black cloth in the Baja California desert – were found more than 150 miles south of Tijuana, across the border from San Diego.
The plantation is four times larger than the previous record in Chihuahua in 1984.
