President Barack Obama has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he poked fun at his Republican rivals.

Asked if he watched the debates by the GOP hopefuls, Mr Obama demurred. "I'm going to wait until everybody is voted off the island," he said, referring to the reality TV show Survivor. "Once they narrow it down to one or two, I'll start paying attention."
