Dashcam footage shows moment bus plunges into flooded road after ignoring warning signs

Watch the moment a school bus driver plunges into a severely flooded road in Texas.

The dashcam footage, filmed in the city of Leander, shows the bus heading down a road in heavy winds and rain, passing what appear to be warning signs along the way.

The driver can be seen approaching the rushing floodwaters, after driving around a barricade, before eventually losing control of the vehicle.

The school bus is then swept away and remains afloat, stuck in a clump of trees.

Leander Police Department shared the video on its Facebook page, stating: “Turn around – don’t drown is not just a catchy phrase, but potentially a life-saving reminder.”

Leander Police rescued the driver and one student from inside the bus.

No one was injured.
