Thurston county incident: Police investigate reports of pipe bomb in Washington state

Authorities are investigating reports of a possible pipe bomb in Thurston county in Washington state.

The Seattle branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said it was sending a dog and handler to the incident at the I-5 overpass on 113th Avenue South.

Washington State Patrol bomb squad is also responding to the incident.

A resident is said to have reported seeing something suspicious while driving along the 3900 block of 113th,

The Thurston Country Sheriff's Office said no residential area is threatened.

But officials are warning that drivers should stay clear of the area.

The road was expected to be closed for several hours.
