Police are looking for two men who opened fire at a group of soldiers at a training centre just south of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The incident took place at the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center at 12:10pm, WDAM-TV reported

Perry County Sheriff Jimmy Dale Smith told the station that officers are currently searching for two while males who were seen driving a red, two-door Ford Ranger.

Authorities later found the vehicle matching the description and brought in two men for questioning.

The Forrest County Sheriff's Department and the US Forestry Commission have joined the investigation.

Officials say there is not an active shooter situation and no injuries were reported by press time.
