The space shuttle Atlantis returned from what looks like its final mission yesterday. It touched down at Kennedy Space Centre in Florida with six astronauts on board. It has flown 32 missions since October 1985, covering a distance of 195 million kilometres.
It will now be used as a standby shuttle ready to rescue astronauts on the remaining flights should they get into trouble.
