Stevie Wonder was reportedly set to pull out of a performance at a fundraiser for Israel's defence forces yesterday because it would not fit with his status as a United Nations "Messenger of Peace".

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the singer had been scheduled to headline the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces' annual gala in Los Angeles on 6 December.
