A suspect accused of setting a 73-year-old woman on fire in a lift in New York City has been charged with murder.
Jerome Isaac was indicted yesterday on a charge of first-degree murder.
He was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing Deloris Gillespie by dousing her with petrol and setting her ablaze in a dispute over money. A security camera recorded the incident.
Mr Isaac, his face badly burnt, later turned himself in to police. His lawyer asked a judge earlier this week to order medical treatment for his client. The lawyer refused to comment on the case.
