The FBI has arrested a fugitive who was placed on their top 10 most wanted list for his alleged role in at least two bank robberies.

Myloh Jaqory Mason, 25, was named as one of the FBI’s top 10 most wanted in December in connection with violent bank robberies that took place at two locations in Lakewood, Colorado.

Mason and two other robbers allegedly wore costumes and masks during the robbery in the likeness of those worn in the horror film franchise ‘Scream’.

This reference to the films reportedly earned Mason the nickname of “The Scream Robber”.

Mason faces a host of charges, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, attempted second-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault.

He is also facing a federal charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a ballistic vest.

Special agent Thomas Ravenelle, in charge of the FBI’s Denver Division, said in a news release: “The capture of this dangerous felon means our community is safer, because we believe Mason would have continued committing violent crimes while he was on the run.”

The FBI announced Mason's arrest on Twitter, stating it went ahead "without incident".

According to the FBI, Mason and his accomplices allegedly shoved “guns in the faces of bank employees and said the tellers would be killed unless they opened the bank vault” during the first robbery in September.

Then in November, the trio staged a “takeover robbery”, where they again pointed guns at the bank employees “to gain access to the vault”.

Upon fleeing the scene, with police in pursuit, Mason and his accomplices allegedly shot two innocent victims during a home invasion and carjacking.

“The capture of Myloh Mason has been one of the highest priorities as we work with our many partners in law enforcement, including the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force,” said Lakewood Police Chief Kevin Paletta in a statement.

He continued: “The crimes allegedly committed by Mason and his accomplices on November 18 made clearly evident his extreme danger to the entire public.”

The reward for tips leading to Mason’s arrest was set at $100,000 at the time he was put on the most wanted list on 17 December.
