The Voice Mexico contestant shot dead in Chicago days after Christina Grimmie murder
Singer was shot three times in the head while celebrating his birthday

A singer who appeared on the Mexican version of The Voice has died after being shot while celebrating his birthday.
Alejandro ‘Jano’ Fuentes, who appeared on the first season of The Voice Mexico, was shot three times in the head in Chicago on Thursday night.
The attack took place just days the death of Christina Grimmie, who appeared on the The Voice USA. Ms Grimmie was fatally shot while signing autographs at a concert venue in Orlando on Friday 1 June.
Mr Fuentes reportedly got into a car with his friends, but a man ordered him out of the vehicle before shooting him.
Police currently have no suspects in the case, though reports say they are investigating whether the shooting was an attempted carjacking or robbery.
Mr Fuentes was shot outside the performing arts school he opened himself, Tras Bambalinas, where he had been celebrating his 45th birthday with friends.
Cook County Chief Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the singer had died on Saturday after being taken to hospital in critical condition. A post was made on the Tras Bambalinas Facebook page on the day of the attack wishing Mr Fuentes a happy birthday: “We are immensely grateful for your commitment and dedication to the arts and to your students,” it reads.
“We hope that your life stays full of success, love and health.”
