Tiny dachshund dog saves life of giant St Bernard stuck in two feet of mud
Dachshund named Razor alerted rescuers to his friend stuck in his mud
A dachshund named Razor is being called a hero after his actions saved his friend, a St Bernard named Jazzy, who was stuck in two feet of mud in Belen, New Mexico last week.
According to reports, Jazzy escaped an enclosure last week and ended up getting stuck in the mud. That’s when Razor tried to alert their owner to his friend’s sticky situation.
Tim Chavez told KRQE when he saw Razor that morning the little dog was acting strangely.
“I went to feed him, and he was kind of going crazy, trying to get my attention,” Mr Chavez said.
After his owner left for work Razor became more desperate. Eventually, the dachshund was able to get the attention of a neighbour and led him across a field to where Jazzy was stuck in a muddy ditch.
Fire fighters and police were alerted and they were able to pull Jazzy from the mud.
“It’s never happened in my career, and in this business, we see a lot of things. This is the first time that we participated in something like this,” Belen Fire Chief Manny Garcia told KRQE.
