Tushar Atre: Technology millionaire feared dead after being kidnapped from home
Police hunting for abducted tech company founder find a body in his girlfriend's car

A tech millionaire is feared dead after being kidnapped from his California home.
Tushar Atre, 50, was apparently abducted from his property on Tuesday morning, the Santa Cruz Police Department said in a statement on its Facebook page.
He was last seen getting into a white 2008 BMW belonging to his girlfriend. He was reportedly out of his house walking his dog.
Police later said that the “car associated with this case”, presumably the BMW, had been found, “along with a deceased person”.
“That person has not been identified,” the statement read. “Our detectives are still working on this case.”
Mr Atre is the owner of Atrenet, a corporate website development company that has “been serving the web design and development needs of many of the most innovative and successful high tech companies in Silicon Valley since 1996,” according to the company's LinkedIn page. He is reportedly worth millions.
The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported that a witness in Mr Atre’s home told the sheriff’s office about the kidnapping.
The paper said there was more than one suspect in the kidnapping.
Mr Atre has no previous criminal record.
