Eric Trump deletes doctored photo of Ice Cube and 50 Cent in Trump 2020 hats
US President’s son tweeted manipulated image to his 4.2 million Twitter followers
Eric Trump has deleted a doctored photo of rappers Ice Cube and 50 Cent wearing hats emblazoned with the “Trump 2020” logo.
On Tuesday, Mr Trump, 36, President Donald Trump’s third oldest child, tweeted a manipulated photo to his Twitter account that showed the rappers wearing the hats at a basketball game.
The photo was posted to Mr Trump’s 4.2 million Twitter followers, and captioned: “Two great, courageous Americans.”
After Mr Trump posted the photo, BuzzFeed media editor Craig Silverman pointed out that the logos were added to the hats from an image Ice Cube tweeted for 50 Cent’s birthday on 6 July.
“Eric Trump shares an obviously photoshopped pic of two rappers in Trump hats. Things will continue to get dumber,” Mr Silverman tweeted.
Ice Cube then responded to Mr Trump’s tweet, saying: “N***a please,” and the 36-year-old deleted the post soon after.
Mr Trump’s tweet came a day after 50 Cent announced that he is going to vote for President Trump on 3 November’s election.
The rapper claimed on Instagram that “Trump doesn’t like black people,” but said that he will vote for the current president because he does not agree with Democratic challenger Joe Biden’s tax plan.
Last week, Trump campaign adviser Katrina Pierson claimed that Ice Cube was working with the administration on its platform for African Americans.
Ice Cube later clarified to CNN that he has not endorsed either candidate for November’s election.
The rapper said that both of the campaigns had reached out to him about his project, A Contract for Black Americans, which presents “a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice”.
According to The Hill, both rappers previously stated that they would not support President Trump.
