Joe Biden shares attack ad against Trump

Joe Biden has released another campaign advert hitting out at Donald Trump, using his own words against him to scrutinise his handling of the coronavirus.

The video shared on Mr Biden’s twitter plays out the timeline of the escalation of the pandemic in the US, montaging Trump’s interviews and conferences.

“We have it very well under control. We’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for us,” the president says in the video in a clip from 30 January.

The advert continually suggests that Mr Trump ignores the warnings of the pandemic and denied its severity to protect the stock market.

“It will go away just stay calm it will go away,” Mr Trump also says in the video.

Mr Biden captioned his tweet with the final words from the clip: “Donald Trump just doesn’t understand: We have an economic crisis because we have a public health crisis — and we have a public health crisis because he failed to act.”

The tweet including the video on Mr Biden’s account currently has more than 80,000 likes on twitter and over 30,000 retweets.

The presidential hopeful’s team released an earlier video attacking the president’s response to the coronavirus pandemic only a matter of days ago.

The 7 May advert invoked Abraham Lincoln quotes contrasted with news clips of Mr Trump supporting Michigan lockdown protestors against images of coronavirus victims.

On the same day, Mr Trump also released a video attacking Mr Biden’s relationship with China.

“During America’s crisis, Biden protected China’s feelings. Or perhaps China’s investments. Biden Stands up for China. While China tries to cripple America,” the advert which was personally approved by Mr Trump claimed.

The campaigning of both Mr Biden and Mr Trump has escalated over the last week as the 2020 presidential election season draws closer.
