To hear White House adviser Kellyanne Conway tell it, the media is quite the narcissistic industry.

Ms Conway took the dig at the news media that her boss has been waging open war against during an interview on Fox News’ “Media Buzz” Sunday morning show.

“I think the media spend too much time talking about themselves and covering issues they think are important to them or that they want the American public to focus on,” Ms Conway said.

Cable news networks have given quite a bit of air time lately to their cause, and that coverage has only increased lately after Donald Trump tweeted a video of him beating up an individual who had their heads replaced with a CNN moniker.

With a President who loudly attempted to shame CNN during one of his first press conferences as President-elect, it may come as no surprise that a current of anti-journalism sentiment can be felt in America. The President continues to call out the media for what he calls “fake news” coverage of his administration.

Even as cable news networks start to cover issues like the ongoing healthcare debate in the Senate, the President has a tendency to bring the light back onto his rivalry with the media with a quick tweet criticising those in the media who are critical of him.

In addition to the video showing Mr Trump beating up a CNN-person, the President has attracted coverage of the media by tweeting about news anchors and disparaging their personal looks, in addition to their coverage. He also frequently rails on the media in what appear to be spur of the moment tweets to get back at his media foes.

Ms Conway went after the media in other ways, too.

When asked if Mr Trump’s past sexist remarks towards women make it hard to work for him, she noted that she is on the receiving ends of sexist remarks, too. She said that the media doesn’t cover that, though, because she’s a conservative.

Ultimately, she said, she isn't too worried about those attacks. She doesn't care what "the haters" say, she said.
