Donald Trump appears to check that wife Melania voted for him in US election
The Republican candidate appears to lean over to check the ballot of his wife, who is standing next to him
Donald Trump appeared to check that his wife Melania actually voted for him for president.
The couple headed out to vote on the morning of election day at a public school near Trump Tower. They filled out the ballot next to one another – in separate booths but a very short distance apart.
And Mr Trump – while taking the time out to fill out his own ballot – appeared to have leaned over and had a look at the one being done by his wife, Melania.
It isn’t clear whether Mr Trump was consciously looking at Ms Trump’s paper, or of course whether he actually saw it. But many on social media suggested that
“Says it all,” wrote one, next to a pic of Mr Trump leaning over. “Trust,” wrote another.
Ms Clinton also voted on election day morning, in Chappaqua, New York. She voted alongside her husband Bill, though the two appeared to fill out their ballots entirely separately.
Heavily armed police joined Republican Mr Trump as he voted at Public School 59 in Manhattan, a short distance from Trump Tower.
Hundreds of people watched from the street as Mr Trump was greeted by a mixture of boos and cries of "Donald, Donald".
Earlier Democratic candidate Mrs Clinton was joined by her husband Bill as she voted in Chappaqua, New York.
