Oregon school shooting: One person shot by police with middle school on lockdown
A suspect has been shot after an shooting inside Cascade Middle School in West Eugene, Oregon.
His condition is not yet known.
No students have been injured, according to the police.
"There was a shooting inside the building. I can't give you more details at this time," Eugene Police Lt. Jennifer Bills said. "The Interagency Deadly Force Investigation Team will be coming to take over this investigation."
The police are recommending parents to stay at home and suggested to contact their child by phone or text.
The middle school is on lock down with children locked in their classrooms. No one will be allowed inside the premises.
Several police units are on-site.
"We got a report of a dispute here at the school. Officers arrived and were dealing with a suspect," Ms Bills told KVAL.
The arrival of Interagency Deadly Force Investigation Team (IDFIT) suggest an officer used deadly force at some point during the incident. In Oregon, IDFIT investigates all police-related uses of potentially deadly force.
The identities of the suspect and officers involved are unknown.
