Donald Trump has hinted that his post-impeachment “revenge tour” might expand to include pardons for his associates that have been found guilty of crimes.

In a late night tweet, Mr Trump appeared to suggest that he might take action regarding Roger Stone, his former advisor, recently found guilty of lying to congress and witness tampering.

Prosecutors have recommended up to nine years in prison for the disgraced Trump associate.

Mr Trump said: “This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!”

It has also been suggested that he may pardon Michael Flynn, the former army general and national security advisor convicted of lying to the FBI over his contact with a Russian official.

Following his acquittal by the Senate, Mr Trump has caused considerable outcry by firing those that testified against him to the House of Representatives during impeachment proceedings.

Mr Trump fired Lt Col Alexander Vindman, a Russia and Ukraine expert on the National Security Council (NSC), his twin brother, Yevgeny Vindman, a lawyer with the NSC, and Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland.

In a tweet he publicly admitted that he fired Lt Col Vindman in retaliation for his impeachment testimony.

Mr Trump has pardoned a number of controversial figures since taking office, including Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Dinesh D’Souza, and three members of the military deemed to have committed war crimes.

He also pardoned disgraced former media mogul Conrad Black who recently authored the book Donald J Trump: A President Like No Other.
