KING WILLIAM'S TOWN (AP) - Heavily armed police stood guard yesterday as several thousand African National Congress (ANC) supporters heard accusations at a memorial service for victims of last week's Ciskei massacre.
'I believe they wanted to kill as many leaders of the ANC as possible,' said Chris Hani, a leader of the ANC and the South African Communist Party. Burials for 15 of the 28 dead are planned for today, preceded by the service and a night vigil just across the border from Bisho, the Ciskei capital.
