Angola talks 'going well'

LUSAKA - The Angolan government and Unita rebels have held two rounds of face-to-face talks in the Zambian capital as part of a UN-brokered effort to halt their civil war, Reuter reports.

'Both Unita and the Angolan delegation first met last night at a secret location and they met again today. Talks so far are going on well,' an authoritative source said. The UN envoy, Alioune Beye, is brokering the talks, aimed at halting a war that has killed 1,000 people a day since last year.
