At least 23 people were killed when heavy rain triggered landslides in south-eastern Bangladesh, officials said today.
Government official Giasuddin Ahmed said 19 bodies had been recovered after the mudslides in two areas of the southern coastal region.
Several other people were missing.
Police official Zahirul Hoque said another landslide killed four members of a family in a separate area. Huge chunks of mud buried the victims' home.
Rescue operations were continuing but rain was hampering efforts.
