At least eleven people have died in a bus crash after the vehicle fell off a highway bridge in north-eastern China. It is believed that ten South Korean tourists and the Chinese driver are amongst the casualties while seventeen have sustained injuries.

The accident reportedly took place on Wednesday after the vehicle left the north-eastern city of Ji’an and was halfway to its destination of Dandong, which borders North Korea.

China’s Foreign Ministry has said 28 people were on the bus which included 26 South Koreans. Officials in South Korea have said its nationals were there as part of a 140-person delegation of mainly government employees.

The video above shows that all that remains from the crash is a few scattered personal belongings.

An investigation has begun into what caused the crash.
