At least seven people have died and more than 20 have been injured in an earthquake in southwest China.
The official Xinhua News Agency said today's quake hit Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. The US Geological Survey said it registered a magnitude of 5.6 at a depth of 6.1 miles.
Xinhua said the earthquake hit the border area of Yiliang county of Yunnan and Weining county of Guizhou. It did not give any other details.
