Three Pakistan navy officers are to be court-martialled for "negligence" in connection with a dramatic Taliban attack on a base in Karachi last year.
The 18-hour assault on Mehran naval station last May destroyed two US-supplied surveillance aircraft and killed 10 people on the base.
The news of the military trial came as gunmen opened fire on a political rally in Karachi yesterday, killing at least nine people and provoking rioting.
