A mild earthquake rattled some small towns east of Rome Tuesday but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The civil protection agency said the 3.1 magnitude quake took place at 1523 gmt.
Meanwhile, the agency also said it was still assessing damage from a series of mild quakes a day earlier in northwestern Italy.
It said a team of experts would spend Wednesday examining churches and other historic buildings.
No injuries were reported in Mondayÿs quakes, but they frightened people and prompted officials in some towns to cordon off older buildings and evacuate some residents.
