Soldier's death takes British toll to 346

Another British soldier has been killed during an operation against insurgents in southern Afghanistan.

The paratrooper, a member of the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, received fatal gunshot wounds on patrol at Nad-e Ali in Helmand province. The number of UK service personnel killed in the country since 2001 stands at 346.
