The Taliban detonated a car bomb in Pakistan's third-largest city yesterday, killing 20 people and wounding more than 100 in an attack they said targeted the offices of the ISI spy agency.
The blast in the Punjabi city of Faisalabad tore through a gas station, setting off additional explosions from natural gas cylinders. Parts of several businesses, including an office of Pakistan's national airline, were destroyed. Police say it was not a suicide attack.
The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility, saying it was to avenge the death in custody of one of their members.
