Taliban parade 'British' dog stolen from military in video
US military sources say the animal belonged to British forces

The Taliban have released a video parading a British military dog they captured in December.
The forlorn looking animal is held on a chain connected to a black harness by one Taliban fighter as they present the dog they call Colonel and a GPS tracking device, torch and camera they say he was wearing.
The Nato-led coalition in Afghanistan revealed a dog had gone missing during a mission in December last year, but gave no other details. Meanwhile, a US military official source said the animal belonged to British forces.
Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the terrorist group, said the animal was stolen during a battle around a month ago in Laghman province, to the east of the capital, Kabul. He said the brown-haired dog was being cared for and was in good health.
Mujahid said by telephone that the dog is being held in a "safe place" in Laghman. "The condition of the dog is OK - he was not injured and is not being mistreated," he added.
