Chinese toddler falls from apartment and survives

Footage has emerged of a three-year-old boy surviving a fall from six stories high, after clinging to the side of an apartment in China.

The toddler was left alone at his home in Chongqing and reportedly tumbled over the railing.

Residents from nearby buildings, saw the boy dangling and quickly gathered on the pavement below in an effort to catch him when he fell.

According to Shangyou News, the child had wandered out on to the balcony in search of his grandmother.

In the video, the young boy holds on to the fencing and attempts to pull himself back up to safety, as a crowd quickly gathers underneath him with blankets in a bid to break his fall.

As the boy drops, screams can be heard as he lands on the blanket.

State broadcaster CCTV reported that one of the neighbours took the child to hospital following the fall, and he sustained no injuries.
