A US drone strike in Pakistan has killed three suspected militants near the Afghanistan border, according to intelligence officials.
Four missiles struck a residential compound on Sunday morning near Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, the Pakistani officials said.
The identity of the suspected militants is not known.
North Waziristan has been a frequent target of US missile strikes. The tribal region is home to a mix of insurgents from Pakistan, Afghanistan and al-Qaida-linked foreign militant groups.
Pakistan publicly protests the drone strikes, although officials say Islamabad has secretly supported the programme.
The intelligence officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to the media.
