Using unusually strong language, Hillary Clinton has demanded that Pakistan step up the fight against terrorists within its borders, saying it "must be part of the solution" to the conflict in Afghanistan.

The US Secretary of State, speaking in the Afghan capital, Kabul, yesterday, said that Pakistan must "take the lead" in fighting insurgents based in the county.
