CCTV footage shows train overshoot the platform at Churchgate station

A passenger train in Mumbai overshot the tracks and rammed into the buffers causing the front carriages to mount the platform. The shocking moment was caught on CCTV which can be seen below.

Five passengers suffered injuries in the incident. Three were given assistance by the Churchgate station staff while two others were referred to a local hospital, and have since been discharged.

Railway authorities have blamed “human error” for the incident.

Churchgate is one of the busiest stations in Mumbai, India's largest city. It serves trains running along the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network.
