Heroic driver leaps out of bus to save suicidal woman in China

A bus driver managed to rescue a suicidal woman from jumping off a bridge on Sunday in the city of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province in eastern China.

Dramatic bus CCTV footage shows the driver’s quick-thinking as he spots the woman teetering on the edge of the bridge.

He slams on the brakes, quickly leaves the bus and jumps over a barrier to retrieve the woman, who initially resists the help of the bus driver and another bystander.

Eventually, the pair brought her to the safety of the bus, and the driver continued his journey.

Police were called by passengers and it has been reported that the woman has received counselling.

The reason for her suicide attempt remains unknown.
