ASSIUT - Suspected Muslim extremists attacked two buses carrying holidaymakers in southern Egypt yesterday, the Interior Ministry and police said, AFP reports.

The gunmen fled as police escorting the buses fired back. None of the holidaymakers was injured, police said.
