An 11-month-old puppy has been stabbed in the eyes during a burglary.

Juice, a Staffordshire terrier, now needs an urgent operation in order to save his left eye.

Australian news channel, 9News, reported that the puppy was home alone in Sydney.

CCTV footage of the attack shows two men walking towards the door where they reportedly used a screwdriver to break and enter into the house.

Juice can be seen being attacked upstairs on the far right of the surveillance camera screen before fleeing to another room downstairs.

The dog was discovered by his owner, bleeding from a number of wounds on his face and shaking with fear on Sunday afternoon at the owner’s home.

Detectives think the attack and subsequent burglary of the house, where the robbers stole a laptop and some personal documents were stolen, is thought it to be linked to other break-ins in the area.

Another robbery saw a teenager threatened with a screwdriver, where a laptop and some cash was stolen.

Witnesses said the two thieves fled the scene in a white Mercedes AMG sedan.

Local police believe a similar car was spotted at the scene of the robbery and stabbing of the dog, as well as a bag snatch incident.
